EVENT INVITE: Envision Providence Grand Opening
Please join Robert Childs, Envision Site Director, local officials, community representatives, and members of the Christian & Missionary Alliance denomination churches throughout New England in celebrating the grand opening of an Envision site in the city of Providence.
Envision identifies and develops missional leaders who innovate, establish, and strengthen communities of faith in key urban environments. We do this through short-term trips, internships, leadership development, and ministry opportunities. The Providence location joins more than 20 established Envision sites across the United States and around the globe.
A Grand Opening celebration is scheduled for Saturday, October 6. The event is organized in cooperation with local Providence-area ethnic churches: The International Alliance Church, Centro Cristiano de Adoracion, and Providence Hmong Church. WHAT: There will be 2 separate components to the day’s events. A community service outreach in the morning, followed by a community block party in the afternoon.
9:00 am – Service Projects: Volunteers from C&MA churches throughout New England will be dispatched from the Envision Providence site to complete
service products throughout the community. This will include park and street clean-ups, as well as neighborhood small project assistance.
12:00 pm – Community Block Party: Food, drinks, games, activities will be available for all volunteers, residents, business owners and anyone else in the surrounding communities. The party is FREE to all attendees.
2:00 pm – Grand Opening: A short ceremony to commemorate the Grand Opening, with a few words by Robert Childs, Site Director, and local and community representatives.
4:00 pm – Clean up.

About Envision Providence
Envision sites offer the opportunity to be involved in ministry that connects local churches, brings social justice, and seeks God’s Kingdom to transform major urban settings. The Providence location joins over 20 Envision sites in cities both in the US and around the world. Site Director Robert Childs opened Envision Providence in May 2018, under the guidance and support of the New England District for the Christian & Missionary Alliance. The first missions teams began arriving in the summer of 2018. The Grand Opening for the facility is scheduled for October 6, 2018.
